What is the Manchester council really up to???

As the Manchester council remains suspiciously silent and moves forward to destroy a ready made hydroelectric source I was recalling a conversation from a few years prior.

Back in 2006 I had a conversation with the Manchester village administration suggesting I had received agreement to complete engineering to retrofit the dam withe electrification. I was told “We won’t electrify the dam because of regulations and we don’t want to be told what to do”. I think that was before the same people let one of their team embezzle hundreds to thousands of dollars from the community.

Now the community has separated from the township so there is no oversight. The State of Michigan doesn’t seem to be exercising oversight as the community’s administrative team rushes forward using tax dollars to provide one family hundreds of thousands of dollars in land while destroying a viable Dam. It’s frustrating the engineering failed to address the actual scope of the project and in typical process and the council has failed to inform the residents of facts.

Now questionable work has been completed that may result in the failure of the M 52 bridge. I’d bet they’re working toward additional funding from the state highways department to restore M52 if they remove the dam and cause engineering problems like they did with the main street bridge. We’ll have to see how that plays out because the it’s obvious the council doesn’t believe residents of Manchester deserve to know what’s really going on with their community.

That brings me back to the big question. It’s been proven time after time that governments who act in secret and avoid oversight are acting unethically at the least and illegally at the worse. Makes you wonder what Manchester’s council really up to and how much state tax money is being wasted or funneled into private pockets instead of being used to fund projects for the whole community.
