It’s spring and time for cleaning yards. Thing is, there are ordinance “governing what we should do with yard waste, considering fire and health hazards” and community standard “what is done regardless of laws and ordinance”.
Lets talk about community standard.
By all evidence, there is no standard for burning or disposal of yard waste in Manchester, Michigan. I contacted “city” administration and they refused comment. But by all evidence burning “white man fires” is acceptable regardless of potential fire or health hazards. Even when one of the people burning has already been identified as creating fire hazard.
It seems to be your choice to burn yard waste and pile it up by the road. The “city” doesn’t seem to care about maintaining a clean, consistent, safe environment or irritating smoke. Burning yard waste would be considered following community standard.
Hey if you’re singled out as an offender these three examples should suffice that community standard dictates burning and dumping waste are acceptable, that ordinance doesn’t matter. Of course it’s your choice. I worry we’ll have another issue like 109 Riverside but I guess community management doesn’t care.
I don’t want Manchester to become Fahrenheit 451
